About This Spot

Stepping into Superdish, you’re greeted by a subtle hum of conversation and the warm aroma of rich, layered spices that promise a well-crafted journey through Hunan flavors. Nestled near the Oakridge neighborhood in San Jose, this is a place where the pace invites ease—neither rushed nor languid—but a comfortable rhythm that suits sharing an evening with friends or a quietly celebratory dinner.

The dining room hints at thoughtful simplicity, a balance of modern touches and unpretentious charm that feels just right for savoring dishes made with care. There’s an inviting sense of discovery here, where even familiar ingredients carry whispers of something a bit different—spices that tease without overwhelming, textures that surprise, and a respectful nod to tradition grounded in fresh, vibrant produce.

On the menu, you’ll find a compelling blend of spicy and mild options, where the pork dishes in particular tell stories of slow-cooked depth and bold yet measured heat. Accompanying these are vegetable preparations and noodles that offer balance and refreshment throughout the meal. It’s the kind of place where ordering feels more like a conversation about flavors and preferences than ticking boxes, encouraging guests to explore both the well-known and the unexpected.

Superdish’s atmosphere gains its warmth not just from the food but from those small moments of genuine hospitality—the attentive servers who quietly check in, the kitchen’s steady rhythm heard just beyond the walls, and the friendly murmur of diners who seem to return, time after time, connecting over shared plates and stories.

Whether you’re drawn by the allure of authentic spicy chicken with crunchy peanuts or the familiar comfort of fragrant slow-braised pork, Superdish offers a grounded, heartfelt experience that echoes the vibrant spirit of Hunan cuisine while carving out its own local place to gather.

It’s a good place to have a dinner with my girlfriend! The service is quick and friendly, food is delicious and a lot of choices in the menu! “Fried Chinese yam with fungus” & “Fried sponge gourd with dough sticks” are the new dishes we tried today, taste so good, don’t miss if you like vegetables! we ordered the house special squid the second time, it’s like the old flavor in my memory, four pieces in one order, it’s good to share between us! “Chicken with pepper in pot” tastes good, I love the potato inside! ( be careful with the edge of the pot, it’s hot when just taken from kitchen) Thank you for the refill of the aloe juice in the end! I will come back to try other dishes!

Authentic, legit spicy. Pork intestines flavor was really good! Rice noodle could have a bit more soup.. green onion pancake was standard. Spicy chicken was pretty authentic I think, chicken was cooked well with good texture. Some dishes are pricey, seems targeting high end given the vibes and setup. Next time want to try some non spicy dishes :)

One of the best spots around Oakridge mall. The spicy chicken with peanuts is excellent. The cumin lamb skewers are also delicious, although a little dry. Crayfish fried rice is also a must-try.

Superdish has good location, next to UFC fit and Ranch 99. Excellent Fresh Fish $27, beautiful Lamb Kebab. Vegetables noodle too salty, cray fish fry rice alright, fish flavor eggplant tasty with lot of sugar. It's healthier and tastier to have some spicy and flavorful dishes with some lightly cook and seasoned dishes. Similar to bottled water as soft drink alternative, it would be nice if restaurants market lightly cooked and seasoned vegetables dishes better. Give bland vegetables dishes a section, combo them with spicy dishes?

Hands-down the best food asian food in South San Jose ! This is a new place offers a wide range of spicy items. The “ Boiled Fish Filet,Pickled Cabbage, and Crystal Noodle “ has been very outstanding I would give it a five out of five stars. The fish fillet was generally pretty solid and flavorful. Their customer service is also very good they make sure the guests are very pleased. Trust me if you take any recommendations try Superdish you will not be disappointment.
